We’re Hiring at SOHO Cellar Door – Waiheke Island!
At SOHO Wines we’ve got a passion for life, culture and entertainment and were seeking friendly, wine-curious people with these same passions to join our team at our Waiheke Island Cellar Door. We are a small but mighty, highly experienced crew so far, but need a couple more Wine Hustlers to come on board and help bring our spiritual home of SOHO wine to life this summer.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Duty Manager (Full-Time, Permanent)
- 3+ years of hospitality experience (1 year in DM role preferred)
- Holder of a current NZ Manager’s Certification
- Experienced user of POS/till systems & reservation apps
- Should be wine-curious; experience in/with wine is a major advantage, but certifications are not necessary. Learning more about the stuff is fun with us!
- Team spirit and a hospitable nature is fundamental.
- Able to lift and carry up to 20 kg
- Have current rights to work in NZ
- Other than that, you can be whoever you want to be at SOHO!
General Manager (Full-Time, Permanent)
- Day to day management of SOHO's Cellar Door (CD) business and resources including human, financial (improving the profitability and sales of the CD) and operational
- Leading the CD team including recruitment, training and supervising the team
- Manage digital tools & technical infrastructure for cellar door marketing & operations, such as point-of-sale system, customer database & email marketing platforms
- Coordinate property management and maintenance contractors and jobs, including food truck leasing agreement and managing chef/tenant relationship
- Creating team/staff rotations
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable licensing, hygiene and health and safety legislation and keeping up to date on any amendments to such legislation.
- Liaising with licensing authorities and third-party consultants and customers
- Promoting and marketing the CD to local tourism including event and wedding planners and wine tour operators
- Fielding booking & event inquiries, liaising with customers to plan and execute private events
- Handling customer enquiries and complaints
- Overseeing stock levels and ordering supplies including working with SOHO's winemaker and sales team
- Greeting and advising customers
- Preparing and presenting staffing and sales reports
- Keeping financial records including agreeing and managing budgets for the CD
- Availability to work weekends, evenings & public holidays when required to support the team.
